I must have noise to go along with going to sleep. Usually thats an audio book or long-form video essay type YouTube videos. I wear one earbud to bed if I’m sleeping at night with my girlfriend or just blare it from the TV if I’m sleeping alone during the day (rotating shift). I feel like when I don’t have engaging audio and I’m trying to sleep I can’t quiet my mind enough to sleep. A fan or random ambient noise isn’t enough for me.

Figured someone on here might know or know how to fins out.

I mean, there is no meaning in nature, it was man who invented it, and often it appeared because of a scarcity, for example, the point is in a beautiful woman, because you are unlikely to find another one as beautiful, right?, or can you find a person who will support you and accept you as you are, like your loved ones? I was exposed to a bad PTSD trigger on Saturday and dissociated for a bit and have been in a state of derealization since. Now that my therapist helped me not panic about this feeling, I’ve found myself curious about how other people have experienced this.

I love most things about my job and hate very little (power plant engineer). Love the schedule, problem solving, learning, future potential, coworkers, job itself and the opportunities. Hate the schedule, burns, coworkers, fiberglass and occasional danger.

I mean people who don’t care at all about their privacy or don’t think about it, but they laugh at others for trying to remain anonymous on the Internet and so on.

Normally when this is asked, people think about reviving, curing, resurrecting. This question is about who you save if you were transported to a time a little before their death, like maybe a day before or even a week before. In my opinion, AI Slop is content made with AI that is low effort. People feel and know the quality of something, and if it feels like slop, it feels like slop.

Two questions:

Could be in any context. I do it a little on UFC fights but that’s a relatively low amount and I can afford I to lose any time I do. I might be a little too claustrophobic to go on a ride myself, although I have never tried. And I feel immense respect towards people that do serve onboard submarines. With all my claustrophobia, I have this positive prejudice that it must be amazingly cosy to sleep onboard: feeling slight motions as the submarine moves, hearing the engine hum, having a “sleepover” with people you trust with your life…

Occasionally i hear the phrase “there is no morality outside of human society”. I believe, what is meant by it, is that you cannot say whether something is morally right or wrong in nature, if it isn’t part of human society.

I have access to a small finished rooftop and i want to see if you can think of any use for it. It’s hard to get to because you have to go out a window then up a fire escape. And there’s a couple of nice places to sit right outside my building, so i never wind up going to the roof.

I’m not trying to troll, I’m genuinely curious. Thinking about deer specifically, it doesn’t seem like visual camouflage would really help much when hunting them. Deer sense predators by sensitive hearing (big ears) and smell (long snout). Their eyes are on the sides of their head, so they detect motion rather than high-resolution.

Apologies if this has been asked to death already and i haven’t seen it. I’m also not trying to be too much of a downer but it’s kind of unprecedented.

Every time I search something like “Why is X bad?” on reddit or other forums, the majority of comments is always people arguing the exact opposite. This has been my experience countless times over the years. Recently I started searching the opposite of what I want to know, like “Why is X good?”, and it works flawlessly.

Not sure how else to title. So basically I currently shop in various stores for work here in a major city in the Northeast US and am seeing huge price increases when stores are re-stocking as well as going through their weekly price cycles for the last 2 weeks.
